The Sunrise Family Faculty Organization (FFO) are parents, teachers, and faculty that work together to support Sunrise Drive Elementary students. The FFO helps to organize volunteers, coordinate special projects, and raise funds to help educate our children.
All parents with student(s) enrolled at Sunrise are automatically members of the FFO and encouraged to volunteer, attend school and FFO events.
MEETINGS: FFO general meetings begin after student drop-off, about 8:05 AM, in the Learning Resource Center (our library, aka the LRC), and last about an hour.

The funds we raise make academic and family events possible at Sunrise:
- Academic: Field trips, artists in residence, online computer programs for reading (RAZ Kids) and math (Reflex Math), subscriptions to Scholastic News and Time for Kids, supplemental art class supplies, and 5th grade Legacy Project materials.
In addition, we budget over $30,000 for grants and teacher discretionary money for specific classroom items. This means that the teachers and school community have the biggest influence in how the money is spent – the FFO just facilitates and approves the spending.
- Family Events: Talent Show, Science Night, Fine Arts Gala, Chinese Festival, Sunrise Steppers Celebration, Family Clean-Up Days, Book Fairs, 5th Grade Promotion, and the Community Garden.
